Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is one of a premier Autonomous and self governed Institute. ibps started in the year 1975 as one of the Personnel Selection Service (PSS) in India. ibps started its own entity with RBI and Public Sector Banks(PSB) in the year 1984.This ibps institute was Established to Provide the service to all the public sector banks in India. ibps evolved to implement the best facility to process and select the human resource for the public sector banks and the ibps can provides the services to the all public sector banks, SBI and its associated banks,RBI,Nabard, SIDBI, LIC, few co-operative banks and the regular members of the ibps .
ibps Started the Common Written Examination(CWE) in The Year 2011.CWE is Conducted To Select the officers and clerks in the Indian Public sector banks. CWE is Mandatory For the Getting employment in the 20 Public sector Regional and Rural banks in india. Ibps release the Recruitment Notification for the all ibps member banks in india. Interested and eligible candidates can apply through online for cwe. After Applications Received ibps can Conduct the CWE test in the Various areas and various dates and after conducting exam they will select the merit candidates and after they will conduct the mains exam after mains filtration they will conduct the interview and finally selects the candidates.

INSTITUTE OF BANKING PERSONNEL SELECTION(IBPS)is an first and single agency in INDIA, and ibps  agency started its process of working in selecting the personnel selection services (PSS) since1975. In 1984 IBPS is also one of the best entity at the behest of RESERVE BANK OF INDIA(RBI)and public sector banks. IBPS is also established of self-governed academics and the research oriented institute, with a mission of enhancing human-resource development through personnel investment.  IN 2011, IBPS recruits selection officers and clerks in Indian Banks through the Common Written Examination(CWE). IBPS CWE is mandatory exam to  who are seeks the jobs in the 200 Public sector and Regional Rural Banks. IBPS is also conducts exam, which is periodically accepts the exam applications from the candidates at their website, and the exams are conducted at the various locations in the country in the online mode. The candidates who are eligible in the online conducted exam, those who are go to the interviews through the interview process after clearing those who are eligible in the online conduct exam by the IBPS. On the basis of interview candidates are placed in the Regional Rural Banks.

Employes Recruitment's  through IBPS:

IBPS Recruitment for PSBs And follows 2 to 3 tied up schemes. While IBPS RRB&SO recruitment's are  two level processes, IBPS PO &Clerk consists of three stages. The first stage is Common written examination, followed by the interview and the final placement .
1.CWE PROBATIONARY OFFICER/MT: Recruitment of probationary officers or management trainees. It is a 3-three tier recruitment process consisting of a preliminary exam of 100 marks in the 60 minutes time period, followed by a main exam for shortlisted candidates, of 2000 marks with a duration of 120minutes followed through the interview.
2. CWE Clerks: Recruitment in Clerical cadre. It is a 3 tier process following the same pattern as of PO/MT exam.
3.CWE Specialist officer: Recruitment of IT, LAW, ENGINEERING, Marketing and other professionals. It is a two phase recruitment process and it consists of an online written exam and followed by an interview.
4.CWE RRB Officers and Assistants: Recruitment's os OFFICER AND HIS ASSISTANT to Regional Rural Banks(RRBs)  governed by the social welfare organization NABARD. It is also a 2 tier recruitment process with an a main exam it consisting  of 200 marks followed by the interview of selected candidates. From RRB IV(2015-16) the interviews are conducted by the IBPS itself unlike in the previous drives (I,II and III) where interviews were conducted by participating RRBs as and when the vacancies are available.

Common Written Examination(CWE) 

IBPS is one the competitive exam in all over the INDIA with an selection of ratio 1:1000. Around 20lakhs candidates appeared in CWE-3. The CWE syllabus and general instructions are given in the online form filling of IBPS. Each candidate will be intimated with the date and venue of the exam via call letter, that will be available for download a few days after they register at the IBPS website. In this exam negative marks are there for false answering. IBPS made a complete change in the recruitment process which will evident the effective from the new session 2015-2016. CWE will now be held in the two process i.e, Tier I &Tier II. 1 is the easier exam and more no. of candidates will qualified. 2 nd is the difficult level and in the 2nd level qualified persons are called for interview.
IBPS from 2015 will conduct a 2 tier exam system for probationary  officers and clerks. These exam is the primary and main exams. Those who are qualify from the prelims will only eligible for the main exams. This different syllabus, exam pattern and marking system of the two exams with the prelims contains of 100 marks as against the 200 marks for main exams.

IBPS syllabus:

IBPS Exam Syllabus covers many topics such as thinking, reasoning, general awareness, English language, quantitative aptitude, computer knowledge and professional knowledge. Participants should follow the IBPS EXAM PATTERN Also then should prepare for the exam according to subject wise.


In2012, IBPS announced that the participating banks would no longer conduct separate interviews for successive candidates after the CWE. Instead , IBPS itself will conducts a new common interview (CI) for them at different locations in India and will prepare a final merit list which will be used to recruit them directly to the baking positions reported during the validity of their rank card. IBPS Department kept CWE and interview ratio 80:20 those candidates qualified in CWE exam they are called for the interviews In this session they were knows awareness of basic skills in banking sector and banking awareness. IBPS questions are based on the current affairs, Indian politics, Indian history's, agriculture, sports, awards, Indian culture etc,.


IBPS formed a rank cards those who are eligible in the written exam and interview selection after the phases end. Then fill the vacancies in the participating banks in the upcoming year from the date of announcement of the final results.
IBPS does not announce cut off marks until the process of CWE and the interview is over. This often leaves candidates guessing the expected cut off mark and not being able to know the exact cut off marks. The process of cut offs is also divided as per states. If the vacancies are less in the states, the cut off goes up, vacancies less the cut off goes lower.
